BDS is looking for an experienced, passionate, and inspiring Global Master Trainer – Windows & Gaming to drive Master Trainer community strategy, LOB product knowledge, engagement, execution, and Essential Skills (soft skills) in partnership with the Microsoft client and BDS | Microsoft team across multiple platforms and event/content types [webinars, in-person events, MS Office, Adobe suite, short/long narrative, scripting, demo, experiential, digital, social, video, LMS/Storyline, etc.] for Microsoft’s Consumer Sales Organization. Reporting to our Director, Client Service, you will assist with leading the Worldwide Consumer Master Trainer team, focusing on Windows & Gaming (Windows, Copilot+ PC, Xbox, PC Gaming, 1st/3rd party games, Gaming accessories, etc…) and own engagement and development of a community of Master Trainers (3rd party and/or FTE) as well as drive/support Windows & Gaming content creation efforts. In partnership with management, you will mentor, coach, train, and be responsible for product knowledge, skill development, and impact in order to enhance Master Trainer and partner performance and ensure consistent execution—as well as acting as their advocate with the broader Microsoft team.  

The ideal candidate for this position will drive Master Trainer engagement, deliver impactful training sessions at scale, create fit-for-purpose Windows & Gaming content and partner on content creation, ensure alignment to metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), mentor, coach, and train a diverse team with passion, energy, creativity, and attention to detail—through influence rather than direct authority. You have a strong Consumer Electronics (CE) selling and training background, a pulse on how learners want to be engaged—and you are constantly bringing innovative ideas on event/content strategy and modes of delivery. Most of all, you are excited to work with the Microsoft and BDS | Microsoft teams to strategize and deliver impactful, creative, and engaging content/events that resonate and help develop the capabilities of our training community, Retail Pros, and partners.

Overview

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community strategy for the Consumer Sales Organization, aligning with Microsoft's goals and objectives. Foster engagement, collaboration, and a sense of belonging among Master Trainers
  • In partnership with management, lead, mentor, and coach the Worldwide Consumer Master Trainer team (focusing on Windows & Gaming), promoting a culture of passion, creativity, and skill development to enhance their performance and ensure consistent, high-quality training experiences and execution for our Retail Pros and partners globally
  • Deliver, facilitate, and emcee impactful training events for diverse audiences. Align training efforts with measurable metrics and (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness and impact
  • Evaluate training data (qualitative and quantitative) to implement adult learning theory, focusing on product knowledge (Windows & Gaming focus) and partnering on Essential Skill development for the training community. Monitor MT content creation and events to motivate and upskill third-party Master Trainers and partners, while documenting best practices
  • Create LOB-focused content (focusing on Windows & Gaming) in partnership with the Content Creation team across various platforms, including but not limited to Instructor-Led training content (ILT/PPT), LMS authoring software (especially Storyline 360), video and scripting, Adobe suite, digital, and more—incorporating storytelling across different channels and to a retail/consumer audience (Longer-form narrative, Short-form narrative, social, experiential, demo).
  • Ensure high-quality content and event execution, drive accuracy in content development and publishing, and maintain editorial calendar and project manage individual tasks from assignment to delivery. Infuse innovation and edutainment across all content types, platforms, and events
  • Leverage a strong Consumer Electronics (CE) selling/training background to provide relevant insights and strategies enhancing the training community's support for Retail Pros and partners
  • Advocate for Master Trainers within the broader Microsoft team, securing support and resources through influence
  • Provide consistent feedback on the community to the BDS | Microsoft team and key stakeholders. Introduce innovative ideas for event and content strategy across various platforms and formats to maintain engaging training materials
  • Embrace a growth mindset of continuous learning to influence event and content strategy. Stay informed about industry trends to exceed client expectations
  • Responsible for working within a set of assigned hours for client projects & campaigns as assigned by management, and logging time effectively
  • Other duties as assigned by management

What You'll Bring

Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Education, Business, or another related field preferred  
  • 5+ years of previous Consumer Electronics (CE) training and/or content creation experience, preferably to consumer/retail audiences with Microsoft solutions  
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Microsoft consumer products and services such as Windows, Microsoft 365/Office, Surface, and Xbox/Gaming preferred   
  • Experience with detailed planning, workback schedules, content creation, delivery, and execution  
  • Expert-level facilitation, presentation, and large-event training experience (preferably with consumer products and audiences) 
  • Instructional design experience (Storyline 360 experience a plus) 
  • Experience developing demos and skill-building assets

  • Strong ability to manage event/content planning and process workflows along with excellent problem solving, strategic, time management, and critical thinking skills  
  • Self-awareness, adaptability, high emotional intelligence, a willingness to fail and learn quickly from failure, and a growth mindset are all crucial in this role, as is the ability to reflect through metacognition to improve future outcomes  
  • Expert facilitation, presentation, organization, interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and written)  
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and how to incorporate into content, storytelling, and Master Trainer upskilling to tell stories across different styles and format lengths. (Informational, aspirational, inspirational)  
  • Ability to manage conflicts and difficult situations both internally (project-based) and externally (client-based) and see things from another’s point of view, particularly when thinking about diversity, inclusion, cultural sensitivity, cross-cultural communication, and accessibility skills  
  • Maintains awareness and understanding of new marketing and communications technologies and techniques and excels at researching opportunities and trends within the consumer solutions and Learning & Design (L&D) landscape  
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe creative suite; Storyline experience a bonus  
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and coordinate with multiple internal, external, and agency staff and departments—and evaluate training effectiveness using assessment tools or data analytics
